PCC is accepting applications to be considered for Part‑Time Faculty assignments in the Microelectronic Technology Department at the Rock Creek Campus. The Department will review applications in this pool as the need arises for new part‑time faculty in this area. This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part‑time Faculty Interest Pool from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year. Your application may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full term class assignments.

Instructor Qualifications
  • MT90, MT111, MT112, MT113, MT121, MT122 – Fundamentals in electronic and digital circuits: Instructors need knowledge of material and the ability to teach concepts to students lacking relatable background.
  • Master’s of Science in Physics or Engineering with demonstration of teaching competency in the subject.
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Physics or Engineering with demonstration of teaching competency in the subject.
  • Two quarters of upper division coursework in the subject.
  • Associate’s of Applied Science degree required for employment in the semiconductor industry as an equipment technician with demonstration of teaching competency in the subject.
  • Able to demonstrate teaching competence in all CCOG topics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience is preferred.

Note Regarding Academic Credentials
  • Official transcripts are required to be submitted within 2 weeks of offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications.
  • Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation.
  • Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.

Part‑time Faculty Compensation at PCC

Newly hired Part‑time Faculty at PCC will generally start at Step1 of the current salary schedule. Hourly rates are determined based upon the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab).
