Job description

Position Overview

Part‑time faculty assignments in Diesel Service Technology at the Rock Creek Campus of Portland Community College. The Department will review applications and assign new part‑time faculty as needed during the academic year. Applicants may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full‑term class assignments.

Responsibilities

Apply for and teach diesel service courses assigned by the department, including lectures and labs. Provide instruction, course materials, and assessment in accordance with college standards.

Instructor Qualifications

• ASE certification in all areas of instruction required within the first year of hire.
• Five years recent diesel service experience.
• Five years recent experience teaching at the college level or industry trainer experience (a combination of teaching and training may be substituted, year for year, for recent diesel service experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• AAS or Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in diesel service or an area appropriate to diesel service.

Benefits and Compensation

• Eligible for Oregon Sick Leave and retirement savings plans through PCC.
• Hourly rates determined by the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab) according to the Part‑time Faculty Salary Schedule.
