Job summary

Chimes District of Columbia is seeking a Custodian for a Monday–Friday shift at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. This on-site, part-time role offers a fixed pay rate of $19.05 per hour for duties that include cleaning according to contract specifications.

You will perform restroom disinfection, floor care, trash removal, and routine maintenance tasks, with emphasis on safety and compliance. A high school diploma or equivalent and up to six months of custodial experience are preferred;

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of custodial work experience preferred.
• Candidates with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Agency policies and procedures and follow contract specifications.
• Clean all assigned areas in accordance with contract specifications.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and washable surfaces in public areas.
• Descale showers, toilet bowls, and urinals.
• Keep restrooms supplied with required paper products and soap.
• Perform routine glass and mirror cleaning.
• Scrub tile and wash walls.
• Vacuum area rugs and carpets; sweep and mop floors.
• Pull trash and recycling and place in proper receptacles.
• Dust surfaces, polish furniture and metal, clean glass tabletops.
• Clean and disinfect kitchenettes and break rooms.
• Clean and disinfect fitness centers, health centers, and child care centers.
• Clean walls, partitions, window blinds, and window sills as required by contract.
