Job summary

The Alexandria Area YMCA is seeking a dependable, active Housekeeping Team member to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members and staff. This role requires attention to detail and a hands-on approach to daily cleaning tasks. Position is part-time (15–20 hours per week) with daytime shifts between 6:00 a.m.

and 2:00 p.m. Weekend availability is required, with shifts typically 3–4 hours. Pay ranges from $15.00 to $17.00 per hour, based on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize facility spaces including locker rooms, restrooms, studios, hallways, and gymnasiums.
• Wet mop and dust mop floors; scrub and polish fixtures and equipment.
• Remove trash and restock cleaning and restroom supplies.
• Vacuum carpets and entryways; wash windows and glass surfaces.
• Assist with room and meeting space setup and general housekeeping duties.
