YMCA of Metropolitan Washington in Silver Spring, MD is seeking reliable Part-Time Facility Housekeeping Technicians to keep our building clean, safe, and welcoming for members, guests, and staff. Pay rate $16.50 per hour.

You will perform cleaning duties, operate vacuums and buffers, assist with room setup for meetings and events, respond to spills, and follow safety procedures. This position offers a team-oriented environment and opportunities to contribute to a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• One year of relevant housekeeping, custodial, or janitorial experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand/walk/climb ladders frequently; frequent movement.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe usage.
• Knowledge of maintenance of finished surfaces.
• Respond effectively to spills and emergencies.
• Communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
• Positive work ethic and team orientation.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and housekeeping duties to YMCA standards and procedures.
• Keep assigned areas clean, organized, and free of trash and debris.
• Assist with room setup and breakdown for meetings, programs, and events.
• Monitor chemical storage rooms and bulk trash areas.
• Assist with laundry functions as needed.
• Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and emergencies.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely (vacuum, buffers, etc.).
• Follow safety procedures when handling supplies and equipment.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
