Job summary

YMCA Alexandria is seeking a full-time Facility Housekeeping Technician to assist the chief engineer with maintenance and cleanliness, including the men’s locker room. The role requires organization, proactivity, and attention to detail to keep the Y clean and inviting.

Responsibilities include cleaning, setup for events, laundry help, and quick response to spills or emergencies. The position offers a stable schedule and benefits through the YMCA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of relevant cleaning experience.
• Ability to work independently with a high level of performance.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (vacuums, buffers, etc.).
• Knowledge of cleaning chemical capabilities, mixing proportions and use.
• Knowledge of maintenance and care of finished surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Keeps assigned areas including men's locker room clean and clear for participants.
• Performs cleaning activities such as sweeping and mopping.
• Assists in setup for meetings or events.
• Monitors and maintains cleaning storage rooms, offices, kitchen and bathrooms.
• Assists with laundry functions as needed.
• Responds to accidents, spills, and other housekeeping emergencies.

Position: Full Time Facility Housekeeping Salary: $15.00

About the Job

The YMCA Alexandria is looking for a male facility housekeeping staff to assist the chief engineer in maintenance and cleanliness in the men's locker room and around the building. Are you organized, proactive and have a keen eye for details? Then the facility housekeeping technician position is for you. The YMCA facility housekeeping team set the stage for exceptional service by keeping the Y facility clean and inviting.

Some of the exciting tasks you will do as a Facility Housekeeping Technician include but are not limited to:

• Keeps assigned areas including (men's locker room) clean and clear for all YMCA participants
• Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, and mopping
• Assists in set-up for meetings and/or special events
• Monitor and maintain cleaning: storage rooms, offices, kitchen, bathrooms
• Assist with laundry functions as needed
• Respond to accidents, spills, and other housekeeping emergencies

Schedule:

• Sunday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm
