Kismet DJ + Lighting Services in New Orleans is seeking a creative, reliable part-time assistant to help grow the business. The role pays $30 per hour for all agreed work, with mileage reimbursed and flexible scheduling. No prior experience is required; training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Help build Kismet's Instagram presence from the ground up, including attending selected weddings to capture content and developing an ongoing strategy for the account.
• Assist with marketing and digital projects, including Google Ads and website backend.
• Assist with production during events — loading-in, setting up, loading-out audio and lighting equipment, as well as occasionally running the lighting itself.
• No prior experience is necessary; we'll train you.

Job description

$30 per hour | Part-time | Lots of Saturday evenings Kismet provides DJ and lighting services for weddings around New Orleans. We're a two-person operation looking to grow. We are looking for someone creative and reliable, who can help us build the business in a few different ways. The role will involve a mix of establishing our Instagram presence, content creation, event production, digital marketing, and general business projects. The exact balance can be tailored to your skills, interests, and schedule.

Optional responsibilities

• Build relationships and network with couples, planners, venues, photographers, and other wedding professionals.
• Eventual opportunities to train and DJ Kismet events yourself (for interested candidates)
• Manage lead generation and intake
• General business development

Schedule & pay

Most weddings are on Saturday evenings, so some availability is a must. You'll typically be done by 10:30 pm. Other work can be scheduled flexibly.

Pay is $30/hour for all agreed work time, including event work, travel, editing, marketing, meetings, and other Kismet projects. Mileage is reimbursed.

To be clear, this is definitely a part-time job. The amount of work can vary depending on what we have going on and how much you're willing to take on, but we don't foresee more than 10-hour weeks at maximum to start.

What we're looking for

• Smart, driven, willing to learn
• Strong instincts for social media and visual content — experience is a plus
• Experience with Google Ads and/or Meta Business Suite is a huge plus
• Reliable and able to work independently
• Reliable transportation in New Orleans
• Regular Saturday-evening availability
• Equipment is generally moved with a dolly, but we do have to lift 37 lb speakers onto speaker stands.
• To be clear, we care more about your work, judgment, personality, and reliability than any particular experience or skillset.
