Descanso Gardens Foundation is seeking an Event Coordinator for a part-time, variable schedule. The role provides day-of coordination for meetings, receptions, performances, and other events, working with staff, clients, guests and vendors across the Gardens.

The position includes on-site lead duties when staff are absent, event setups, load-in/load-out, and a strong emphasis on customer service and problem-solving in an outdoor setting.

Qualifikationen

• 1 year customer experience required.
• 1 year event production/coordination experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
• Highly developed organizational skills and excellent attention to detail required.
• Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and integrity.
• Ability to respond flexibly in a dynamic work environment.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Professionalism and good judgment when interacting with guests and team members, trustees and vendors.
• Technical comfort with standard computer tools (email) and Google Workspace.

Aufgaben

• Acts as onsite program lead in the absence of a program staff member during programming.
• Event set-ups: verify placement of furniture and equipment per diagrams and adjust with staff.
• Event load-in: follow master timeline, coordinate load-in of equipment, greet vendors, and manage load-out.
• Provide customer service on-site and address participant needs while ensuring policy compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.
