Job summary

Descanso Gardens is seeking a Facilities Crew Member to support event setup and strike, maintain custodial standards, and assist with the care of special events equipment. The role emphasizes safety, timely execution of tasks, and excellent guest service throughout shifts across the Gardens.

The successful candidate will work part-time, up to 20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule and the ability to respond to events as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests and staff.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Valid California driver’s license (CDL a plus).
• Knowledge of basic maintenance (plumbing and electrical).

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup and strike of events, ensuring timely completion.
• Maintain cleanliness of gardens and public spaces; manage waste disposal.
• Direct visitors and vendors to event locations and monitor access.
• Report any issues or damages to the Lead Facilities Crew Member.
• Operate and maintain event equipment and assist with custodial duties as needed.
