Job summary

Memphis Zoo is seeking a full-time custodian to maintain cleanliness, safety, and order across Zoo facilities. Duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, restroom sanitation, and minor maintenance as needed.

This non-exempt position requires up to 40 hours weekly with flexible weekday, holiday, and weekend hours. Employee works both indoors and outdoors in varying weather, interacts with guests professionally, and reports to the Custodial Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safety rules.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Ability to interact professionally with guests.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of Zoo facilities.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and trash removal.
• Sanitize restrooms and maintain equipment/fixtures.
• Greet guests professionally and assist as needed.
• Follow cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
