Job summary

Melwood is seeking a Community Support Assistant for the Fort Washington/Upper Marlboro area. The role runs Monday through Friday, 3pm–7pm, with flexible weekend scheduling for a total of 20 hours per week and pays $18.50 per hour.

The position supports personal care, community integration, and helps individuals maximize independence per their plan. Responsibilities include assisting with meals and daily living, coordinating medical appointments, and documenting progress for the program team.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent; excellent verbal and written communication.
• Two years of driving experience required.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and/or assist with personal care and emotional support; help individuals reach maximum independence per plan.
• Assist with meals, daily living activities, and maintain a clean, healthy environment.
• Assist with medical appointments as needed.
• Monitor and report changes to the Program Director or Case Manager promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of person-served information.
• Communicate schedule and needs with Case Manager and Program Director.
• Engage individuals in meaningful community/recreational activities.
• Attend trainings and mandatory meetings; participate in supervision sessions.
• Complete timesheets, logs and mileage reports by deadlines.
