Job summary

Melwood Community Services Inc in Upper Marlboro, MD is hiring a Community Support Assistant to work Monday through Friday, 10am–4pm, 30 hours per week, at $18.50 per hour. The role provides personal care, community integration and supports independence.

You will help with daily living activities, transportation, and participate in trainings; strong communication skills and driving ability required; HS diploma and driving experience preferred. EEO employer.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent; strong verbal and written communication; two years of driving experience.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities in a community-based setting preferred.
• May require use of personal vehicle; mileage reimbursement per Travel policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and emotional support to person-served; promote independence.
• Assist with meal prep, daily living activities, and maintain clean environment.
• Assist with medical appointments as needed.
• Monitor and report changes to Program Director/Case Manager promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of person-served information.
• Communicate with Case Manager and Director about schedules and needs.
• Engage individuals in meaningful community/recreational activities.
• Attend required trainings and mandatory meetings.
• Complete time sheets, logs and mileage reports by deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.
