Advocate Health Pineville Lab in Charlotte, NC seeks a self-directed Medical Laboratory Technician for a part-time evening schedule (6:30pm–7am) with every-other-weekend coverage. A Bachelor's degree is required and MT/MLS or equivalent registry eligibility; MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) must be achieved within one year of hire.

The role emphasizes testing procedures, QA adherence, inventory management, and collaboration with leadership to maintain quality and patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MT/MLS or equivalent registry eligible within one year of hire.
• MT (ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) or equivalent required within one year of hire.
• Ideal candidate demonstrates accountability and takes initiative with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency and follows testing procedures and policies.
• Prepares reagents and maintains adequate supply for test procedures.
• Exercises clinical judgment to identify priorities and troubleshoot with specialists when needed.
• Maintains QA compliance and documents corrective actions for non-conforming events.
• Communicates shift-to-shift with leadership regarding issues affecting patient care.
• Participates in staff meetings and projects to implement changes.
• Participates in competency assessment where qualified.
