Job summary

Advocate Health in Lexington, NC is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for the Laboratory department at Lexington Medical Center. This full-time night shift (Tuesday–Friday, 9pm–7am) offers 40 hours per week with eligible benefits.

The LMT will perform tests, ensure timely and accurate results, follow QC/QA procedures, and maintain high safety standards. Requires MLT (ASCP) or equivalent and an associate degree preferred. Training and career advancement opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Experience as Medical Lab Technician preferred.
• MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.
• NAACLS approved Medical Technician program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and promotes teamwork through effective communication.
• Ensures accuracy and timeliness of patient laboratory results with minimal supervision.
• Follows QC/QA procedures and documents results for LIS reporting.
• Recognizes system problems, troubleshoots, and escalates as needed.
• Performs patient procedures using age-specific guidelines and safety policies.
• Maintains safety by identifying patients and properly labeling samples.
