Job summary

Transforming Age is hiring a server at AlmaVia of San Rafael, a dementia-friendly assisted living community in Marin. The role supports a warm dining experience for residents, presenting menus, taking orders, and delivering meals in a timely manner.

Evening shifts run 3:00pm–7:30pm with opportunities for additional shifts. Prior server and long-term care experience are preferred, and a CA Food Handler Card must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Prior server experience preferred.
• 6+ months in long-term care, home care, or related field preferred.
• Experience with POS transactional systems required.
• California Food Handler Card or ServSafe within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm dining atmosphere with excellent service.
• Present menus, explain options, and suggest items.
• Answer questions about menu items and ingredients.
• Record orders accurately and relay to the kitchen.
• Deliver meals promptly while maintaining temperatures.
• Observe residents and fulfill additional needs.
• Assist with salad and breakfast bar selections and tray delivery.
• Clear and reset tables for next service.
• Support dining room setup and infection control procedures.
• Maintain safe, sanitary work areas.
