Job summary

Transforming Age seeks an on-call Cook for AlmaVia of San Rafael, a premier assisted living and memory care community. This role supports shift meals, ensuring residents receive high-quality, properly prepared dishes while following safety guidelines.

Pay ranges from $24.98 to $26.97 per hour DOE. Responsibilities include preparing assigned stations, maintaining kitchen sanitation, and collaborating with the team to meet dietary needs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior cook/sous chef/grill cook experience (1–2 years preferred).
• Ability to prepare high quality food for residents.
• Flexibility to work weekends and various shifts.
• Maintain professional relationships with vendors as needed.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for staff and residents.
• CPR and first aid training may be required.
• Completion of recognized food safety course as required by state/local guidelines.
• Background check, drug screen, and pre-employment tasks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare assigned stations for shift and assist lead cook.
• Maintain kitchen food safety and sanitary handling per State, Federal, and DSHS regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
