Job summary

The Salvation Army Service Extension Unit in Chillicothe, Missouri is seeking a part-time Caseworker to provide intake, assessment and emergency social services assistance. This 19-hour-per-week role offers $15.00 per hour and opportunities to work with community resources and programs.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree in human services with at least one year of related experience and some supervisory exposure; a valid driver’s license and computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in human services required; one year related work experience preferred.
• Proven ability to work with diverse cultures and strong communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and pass TSA MVR check; working knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake and assessment to determine client eligibility for ESS.
• Distribute food, vouchers, and payments; refer to community resources as needed.
• Network with community agencies to maximize available services and resources.
• Maintain confidential client records and accurate data; generate reports as required.
• Supervise volunteers and assist with operating the food pantry.
• Assist with seasonal and emergency social services during disasters and events.
