Job summary

Santa Rosa Junior College is establishing a pool for associate faculty assignments on a continuous basis. Positions are part-time, hourly, and may be temporary, on-call, or immediate/as-needed.

Most assignments are on-site and non-remote, with duties including evening, weekend, online, or hybrid instruction. Appointments hinge on departmental needs and are paid per class, with benefits including medical insurance, pro-rated sick leave, and CalSTRS retirement options.

Qualifications

• Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience.
• Or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
• Sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
• Preferred: professional experience in 3D animation, modeling, games, visual effects or virtual reality; familiarity with 3ds Max, Mudbox, After Effects and Unreal Engine.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent instruction and faculty support to students, which may include evening, weekend, online or hybrid and/or off-campus assignments.
• Provide academic assistance and related services to students during scheduled office hours.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.
• Maintain currency in field(s) of expertise.
• Associate faculty focus primarily on providing instruction and/or student services.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher
