Job summary

Custom Manufacturing & Engineering, Inc. (CME) seeks an experienced Part-Time Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership and hands-on engineering support for our aerospace and defense programs.

The successful candidate will mentor engineers and lead multidisciplinary teams in mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering, reviewing drawings, specs, and BOMs while working closely with manufacturing, quality, program management, customers, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Systems/Aerospace engineering or related field.
• Significant aerospace/defense or high-reliability manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading engineers and providing technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for CME engineering activities and personnel.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering efforts across mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering.
• Review drawings, schematics, BOMs, test procedures, and requirements.
• Support design, development, manufacture, integration, and testing of cables, harnesses, assemblies, and SMT equipment.
• Conduct design and technical reviews and customer meetings.
• Ensure requirements translate into designs, documentation, and verification.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor engineers and interface with customers, suppliers, and prime contractors.
