Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• Alternate requirement: Master’s degree plus 18 graduate semester hours in Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Teach a course load appropriate to the field or discipline.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize documented student learning.
• Employ teaching strategies to communicate subject matter to students.
• Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Use instructional technology where appropriate.
• Encourage development of communication and higher-order thinking skills.
• Contribute to selection and development of instructional materials.
• Incorporate core competencies into curriculum.
• Develop, update, and post course syllabi timely.
• Teach classes across a multi-campus environment.
• Post regular office hours for advisement and consultation.
• Serve as faculty advisor within the college advisement system.
• Prepare syllabi and course outlines per program policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Record and provide attendance data per college policies.
• Participate in college, division, and program activities and committees.
• Support colleagues and contribute to curriculum development.
• Participate in graduation ceremonies.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with students and staff.
• Maintain familiarity with college goals and long-range plans.
• Contribute to planning and development through appropriate channels.

Education

Master’s degree in Engineering or related field
