Job summary

The Veterinary Emergency Group in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a part-time Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line team. You’ll work on the busy ER with doctors and staff, delivering fast, compassionate care to pets in emergencies.

You must be CVT credentialed in the practice state, have 1+ year of experience, and be comfortable with triage, anesthesia, monitoring, and diagnostics. VEG offers growth through clinical and leadership programs.

Qualifications

• CVT credential required in the state of the VEG practice.
• AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred.
• Minimum 1+ year experience in veterinary technician role.
• Basic computer skills and EMR knowledge.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Perform triage, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions and related procedures.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to ensure gold-standard care.
• Handle imaging, sample collection and tube placements.
