Job summary

Pillar Falls Elementary School is seeking a dedicated ELL paraprofessional to support multilingual learners. This part-time role involves working with the ELL teacher, classroom teachers, and students to promote English language development and academic success in an inclusive, supportive environment.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of college or an AA, or Praxis (ParaPro) test; strong communication; patience with diverse backgrounds; and the ability to work as part of a team while

Qualifications

• Two years of college, an AA degree, or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment (Praxis Exam).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, staff, and families.
• Ability to remain patient, flexible, and supportive while working with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructional guidance from the ELL teacher.
• Basic proficiency with technology and educational software.
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and comply with school district policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist the ELL teacher and classroom teachers in implementing instructional activities that support English language development.
• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to English Language Learners in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
• Support students in accessing grade-level curriculum while building English language proficiency.
• Monitor and document student progress, participation, and engagement, providing feedback to the ELL teacher as needed.
• Help prepare instructional materials and classroom resources to support language acquisition.
• Encourage positive relationships, confidence, and cultural inclusion among multilingual learners.
• Assist with classroom management and maintain a safe, organized, and supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, the ELL teacher, and other staff members to support student success.
• Participate in professional development and training as required.
