Job summary

Elk River Independent School District 728 is seeking an English Language Learner (ELL) Assistant for Hassan Elementary School. Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
Associate's degree or higher or demonstrated rigorous standard.
Ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics.
Ability to communicate with students who are English learners.
Ability to work with parents, students, and staff.
Willingness to work overtime including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Assist the teacher in tutoring and activities to facilitate communication.
Supervise the student in lunchroom, classroom, playground or other areas for safety.
Assist in locating resources to support instructional materials.
Assist in obtaining student records from the country of origin and collecting fees.
Help the student acquire academic and daily living skills.
Provide emergency or snow day information to the student and family.
Attend staff and parent meetings as requested by the teacher.
Maintain confidentiality of family and program information.
Work as a team member to promote a positive educational environment.
Other duties as assigned.
