Job summary

Brixner Junior High School is seeking an ELL paraprofessional to support language learners under the supervision of a licensed teacher/administrator. Responsibilities include helping prepare materials, guiding small groups, and supervising students in both general and ELL classrooms.

The role requires bilingual skills and confidentiality, and is safety-sensitive. Position is 178 days per year, 4 hours per day, with a pay rate of $18.50–$20.83 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must possess bilingual speaking, listening, writing and interpreting skills.
• Two years of college study with 48 credits or 72 quarter credits, an Associate's degree or higher, or Praxis passing score.

Responsibilities

• Follow and uphold district policies and procedures.
• Assist students individually or in groups with assignments (reading, math, writing, language development).
• Maintain bi-lingual communication in classroom activities and translations.
• Perform clerical and record-keeping tasks to support the teacher.
• Work with children, parents and school personnel and uphold teacher-like confidentiality.
• Maintain student records within the paraprofessional’s instructional group.
• Attend parent-teacher conferences for translation support.
