North Lawrence Community Schools in Indiana seeks a dedicated part-time reading interventionist for Shawswick Elementary School to support students needing targeted literacy instruction. You will work with small groups or individuals, assess progress, and collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate evidence-based reading strategies across the curriculum.

A Bachelor’s degree in Education or Literacy is required; state teaching license or reading endorsement is preferred but not required;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Literacy, or related field.
• Experience with elementary-aged students in reading intervention or tutoring.
• Strong understanding of reading development and strategies for struggling readers.
• Valid state teaching license or reading instruction certification preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Provide targeted reading intervention to students in small groups or one-on-one settings.
• Assess students’ reading abilities and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement individualized intervention plans tailored to each student’s needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate reading strategies into the general curriculum.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting intervention strategies as necessary.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support at home.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in reading instruction.
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
