Job summary

Jefferson Elementary in Winona Lake, Indiana, part of Warsaw Community Schools, is seeking a Specialized Paraprofessional to Interventionist to support grades K–2 with reading interventions and progress monitoring.

The role is part-time (29.5 hours/week) for 36 weeks, reports to the Building Principal, and focuses on implementing instructional decisions, collecting data, and collaborating with the Intervention Team to help students reach literacy goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or 48 college credits/Associate’s Degree.
• Ability to pass the ParaPro Assessment.
• Experience working with students.
• Preferred: knowledge of reading strategies.
• Preferred: ability to make instructional decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assists K–2 students as an early literacy interventionist.
• Collects and assesses data and digital assessments.
• Implements instructional decisions with Interventionist collaboration.
• Initiates responsive instructional decisions.
• Collaborates with the Intervention Team.
• Ensures prompt arrival to scheduled interventions.
• Holds students to high levels of achievement.
• Communicates effectively in person and by email.
• Receives feedback and acts on observations.
• Follows programs and best teaching strategies with fidelity.
