Job summary

Compliance Management International (CMI) in Houston, TX, is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Technician for a part-time role supporting a manufacturing and R&D facility. The position focuses on safety inspections, hazard identification, chemical safety, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on EHS experience in manufacturing, be able to work independently, and provide practical recommendations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in general industry or manufacturing.
• Solid knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry Standards.
• Experience with chemical safety, Hazard Communication, and hazardous materials.
• Working knowledge of environmental compliance and waste management.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and provide practical EHS recommendations.
• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry or CSP/CIH certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and hazard assessments.
• Evaluate chemical handling, storage, and hazardous material safety practices.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry Standards.
• Perform environmental inspections, including waste management and permit compliance reviews.
• Identify unsafe conditions, recommend corrective actions, and communicate findings to management.
• Provide general EHS support and other duties as assigned.
