Job summary

IEM is seeking an EHS Specialist to support and advance environmental, health, and safety programs in a manufacturing setting in San Antonio, TX. The role reports to the Director of EH&S and emphasizes OSHA compliance, incident investigations, training, and continuous safety improvements.

Responsibilities include inspections, risk assessments, training delivery, emergency planning, and cross-functional collaboration to reduce risk and promote safety excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field preferred.
• 3–7 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard analysis, incident investigation.
• Experience with safety management systems, regulatory compliance, and EHS training.
• Certifications such as ASP, CSP, CHST are a plus.
• Ambitious, promotable with potential for broader leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS programs and initiatives.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and track audit findings with timely actions.
• Lead or support incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Perform JSAs, risk assessments, and PPE hazard assessments.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for staff.
• Maintain emergency response plans and evacuation maps.
• Manage chemical inventory and SDS database per GHS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement controls.
• Support OSHA and environmental regulatory reporting as applicable.
• Analyze safety metrics and incident trends to drive improvements.
• Assist with internal and external EHS audits and corrective actions.
• Promote a strong safety culture through engagement and leadership.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
