Job summary

Sylvan Learning of Omaha is seeking a part-time Education & Operations Assistant to work with the Center Director and instructional team. This role blends student instruction, family communication, and daily center operations.

We are looking for someone dependable, organized, and proactive who can work independently while supporting students, families, and teachers. The position offers opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and grow into a full-time role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation and ability to arrive on time.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to learn and navigate technology and new systems.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle student and family information appropriately.
• Successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instruction using Sylvan's instructional programs.
• Assess students and monitor progress.
• Review student education plans and communicate concerns or updates to the Director.
• Prepare instructional materials and support daily instructional flow.
• Support teachers and students as needed.
• Prepare for and schedule ongoing conferences.
• Communicate with families by phone, text, and email.
• Assist families when the Director is unavailable.
• Build positive relationships with students and families.
• Grow into independently preparing for and delivering family conferences.
• Assist with opening and closing the center.
• Keep the center clean, organized, and prepared for students.
• Organize materials and maintain the token store.
• Assist with teacher schedules and daily center organization.
• Communicate with teachers regarding student needs and daily operations.
• Take initiative to identify and complete tasks that keep the center running smoothly.
