NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is offering an exciting Echo Sonographer position in Non-Invasive Cardiology. The role is part-time with a 12:00 PM start window and involves performing ultrasound tests of cardiac anatomy and function under supervision, ensuring image quality and accurate documentation.

The ideal candidate will have post-secondary allied health education, ultrasound training, and registration or registry eligibility with ARDMS/RCS/SDMS/CCI.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology as taught in allied health programs.
• Six to twelve months ultrasound training program experience.
• Should be registered or registry eligible with ARDMS, RCS, SDMS or CCI.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient data by involving the patient, family, and other health care providers.
• Reviews chart and/or prescription for testing indication.
• Assists physician during related procedures such as transesophageal echocardiography.
• Operates equipment according to department and manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Performs appropriate patient monitoring.
• Explains testing procedure to patient and family.
• Adapts positioning to meet patient needs.
• Records and digitally clips images for interpretation.
