Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform and analyze all aspects of cardiac ultrasound testing, including M-mode, 2D, Doppler, and stress echocardiography. The role requires an associate degree and accredited ultrasound training, with ARDMS registry status or eligibility and CPR certification.

The candidate will document studies, communicate findings to physicians, maintain equipment, and assist in emergencies.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent with accredited ultrasound program.
• Registered or registry eligible by ARDMS (American Registry to Diagnostic Medical Sonographers).
• CPR certification required.
• Must maintain active registry status.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient comfort and prepares equipment according to procedures.
• Maintains and sterilizes equipment; notifies supervisor of breakdowns.
• Documents echocardiograms; records data and notifies physician of changes.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics; assists cardiologist in emergencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
