Job summary

South Shore YMCA is seeking a part-time Teacher-Floater to join its Early Learning Centers. The role requires planning, execution, and overall operation of a high-quality classroom while promoting YMCA core values and lifelong learning.

The position reports to the Director of the Early Learning Center and emphasizes member service and community engagement. The incumbent will supervise staff and volunteers, ensure EEC, QRIS, and NAEYC compliance, and build strong relationships with families.

Qualifications

• Completion or in process of attaining a Bachelor’s degree in Early Education or related field.
• Minimum of teacher qualifications from the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
• Knowledge and experience with EEC regulations, QRIS Standards and NAEYC.
• Ability to develop positive, effective working relationships with staff, children & families, volunteers, school administrators, members, community leaders and other agencies.
• Effective teaching skills and the ability to address and follow up with family needs/concerns in a positive and professional way reflecting an attitude that values diversity.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute high-quality Early Learning activities.
• Supervise teachers, assistants and volunteers per policies.
• Ensure compliance with EEC regulations, QRIS and NAEYC.
• Foster relationships with families, members and community partners.
• Assist in recruiting families and connect them to the YMCA’s mission.
