Job summary

Reedley College, part of the State Center Community College District, seeks a DSP&S Counselor for its Reedley College campus in a part-time faculty pool. The counselor will provide specialized counseling for students with disabilities, develop SEPs, coordinate accommodations, and support students through matriculation, with a focus on diversity and accessibility.

The role requires a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling or related fields, a relevant license or credential, and experience

Qualifications

Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling required.
Master’s degree in counseling, guidance counseling, student personnel, clinical or counseling psychology, education counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy, marriage, family and child counseling.
Valid California Community College Credential.

Responsibilities

Evaluate disability documentation and arrange appropriate accommodations.
Develop/revise SECs and SEPs for students with disabilities.
Provide accommodations such as note taking, ASL interpreting, testing accommodations.
Assist students in matriculation and determine class placement using multiple criteria.
Offer academic, career, personal, and disability counseling to adult students with disabilities.
Monitor and track student progress toward degree objectives.
Maintain confidential records and complete mandated reports.
Advocate for students and collaborate with instructors and staff.
