Job summary

Alpha Health Services in Pennsylvania is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional to work one-on-one with a participant in home and community settings, following an ISP, providing transportation, promoting independence, and documenting progress. The role requires building a trusted, caring relationship and adherence to HIPAA regulations.

The participant is requesting a male DSP to serve as a mentor to help achieve community goals, with approximately 16 hours per week and a flexible

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a DSP or in a direct care/caregiving role is required.
• Valid PA driver's license, active auto insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle.
• Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Transport participant to community activities, appointments, and outings per ISP goals.
• Provide personal care support with dignity and respect.
• Support and encourage community participation and social inclusion.
• Monitor health, behavior, or condition and report to supervisor.
• Observe and document participant behavior, progress, and changes in status.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to participant needs.
• Assist with meal preparation respecting dietary needs.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with care team and family members.
• Complete all PA ODP trainings and certifications.
