Job summary

Goshen Community Services in Omaha, NE is seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs in a group home setting. You will support daily living activities, promote independence, and follow individualized plans.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
• Reliable vehicle to transport during shift.
• Pass all background checks.
• Full range of motion, physical strength, and the ability to achieve and maintain training and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily tasks/chores like cooking, cleaning, medication management.
• Support and promote good hygiene.
• Run errands such as shopping and appointments.
• Encourage and foster individuals’ hobbies and interests.
• Provide habilitation and documentation.
• Follow health and safety protocols.
• Ensure individuals' needs are met while preserving dignity.
• Provide day-to-day care in residents' homes.
• Assist and guide budgeting funds (shopping or money management).
• Assist participation in social and recreational activities.
• Complete and maintain documentation on web-based system training provided.
• Follow individual Safety Plan.
• Complete daily ISPS data.
• Monitor progress with the Individual Service Plan.
• Provide a safe living environment.
• Communicate with the Team.
• Maintain professional relationships and strong attendance.
• Attend ISP meetings if needed.
• Administer medication as scheduled and monitor health changes.
• Other duties as assigned.
