Job summary

Lehigh Valley Companion Care Homes is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide compassionate care in our memory-supported homes in Whitehall, PA. This part-time role includes Sunday shifts from 7-3 and 3-8, with training provided.

Responsibilities include personal care, medication administration, social engagement, and health observation to ensure resident well-being in a safe, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Previous experience in direct care is preferred but not required; training is provided.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical stamina and ability to assist with transfers and other care needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Administer medications and document accurately following prescribed schedules.
• Provide emotional support and foster positive relationships with residents.
• Facilitate and engage in recreational and community activities with residents.
• Observe and monitor residents’ health conditions and report concerns.
• Implement individualized care plans and behavior support strategies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
• Complete and maintain accurate documentation and records of care.
