Lehigh Valley Companion Care Homes seeks compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide care in our care homes. The ideal candidate will assist with personal care, promote independence, and help create a safe, supportive environment for individuals with IDD.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Training provided; prior direct-care experience preferred but not required.
• Compassionate, patient and respectful approach to care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical stamina and ability to assist with transfers and other care needs.
• Paid training and opportunities for professional development.
• Supportive and collaborative work environment.
• Flexible scheduling options after completing three weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Administer medications and document accurately following prescribed schedules.
• Provide emotional support and foster positive relationships with individuals.
• Facilitate and engage in recreational and community activities with individuals.
• Observe and monitor residents’ health conditions and report any concerns.
• Implement individualized care plans and behavior support strategies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
• Complete and maintain accurate documentation and records of care.
