Job summary

Kindly Direct Care in Califon, NJ is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one support to an adult with Down Syndrome. The role focuses on companionship, helping the individual engage in community activities, and promoting greater independence.

You will work Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with driving on shift required, and a pay rate of $19–$21 per hour. This part-time position offers consistent scheduling and meaningful, person-centered care in

Qualifications

• Warm, patient, dependable and genuinely interested in building a consistent relationship.
• Able to reliably work the posted schedule.
• Comfortable supporting an adult one-to-one in home and community settings.
• DSP, mentoring, education, recreation, human services, or caregiving experience is helpful but may not be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one companionship and person-centered support.
• Help the individual participate in Community outings
• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, social opportunities, or other community activities as applicable.
• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills.
• Help the individual work toward goals identified in the service plan.
• Provide reminders, routine support, or light assistance as required by the case.
• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions.
• Complete required documentation and communicate reliably with the Kindly team.
