Position Summary

Title: Driver I - Non‑DOT Management Level Individual Contributor
Salary: $14.00/hr, potential commission or incentive program
Shift: Mon/Tue 9am – 1pm; Wed/Thu 8am – 5pm
Travel: None
Location: specified Cox location in the USA.

Job Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles through Auction lanes on sale day in a safe manner.
• Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on Auction premises and to/from customer dealerships and businesses, observing driving rules and demonstrating courtesy and defensive driving principles.
• Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by supervisor or team leader; move vehicles as necessary and locate “lost” vehicles.
• Assist with operating vehicles as needed – inflate tires and jump‑start using battery box and air tank.
• Notify supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative; notify Service or Gas Truck Driver when vehicle is out of gas.
• Assist customers (dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, etc.) and coworkers as needed.
• Follow all safety and health procedures and model safety‑related behaviors, supporting Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Safe driver background.
• Physical requirements: enter and exit vehicles; sit for prolonged periods; walk long distances; stand, walk, reach, talk, hear regularly; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb frequently; lift 1‑15 pounds.
• Vision: close, distance and color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent; ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission; previous auction experience.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions; moderate noise level.

Drug Testing

Pre‑employment drug test required. Cox Automotive currently does not test for marijuana for this position. The workplace is drug‑free; possession or use of illegal drugs is prohibited during work hours, on company property, or in company vehicles.
