Job summary

Job Overview

Position: Driver I (Individual Contributor)Location: Specified Cox automotive locationWorking Hours: Wednesday 7am – 12pm (No remote option)Compensation: $15.55 per hour, eligible for additional commission and incentive programs. Signing bonus of $500.Safety Note: This role requires safe moving, staging, and parking of vehicles on auction property, driving vehicles to and from auction lots and customer businesses, and operating within auction sale lanes on designated sale days following all safety rules and regulations.

Job Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles through auction lanes on sale day in a safe manner.
• Transport vehicles to and from designated areas, customer dealerships, and businesses while observing auction rules, road rules, and demonstrating courtesy and defensive driving principles.
• Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by supervisor or team leader, move vehicles as necessary, and locate “lost” vehicles.
• Assist with vehicle operation as needed; inflate tires and jump start vehicles using a battery box and air tank.
• Notify supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative or when a vehicle is out of gas; notify the service or gas truck driver.
• Assist customers (dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, etc.) and coworkers as needed.
• Demonstrate a safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling related behaviors.
• Participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Safe driver with experience operating vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.
• Ability to enter and exit vehicles constantly.
• Prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing—up to long distances and periods.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb as frequently required.
• Lift 1–15 pounds.
• Vision: close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous auction experience preferred.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions and a moderate noise level.
