Job summary

BioLife, part of Takeda, offers flexible part-time roles at our Avondale plasma donation center. Donor screener and phlebotomy support help deliver life-changing medicines, with most shifts 4 to 6 hours, 3+ days per week.

You’ll receive thorough paid training and be part of a patient-focused team. You will greet donors, record vital signs, operate the Donor Information System, and help improve center processes.

Qualifications

• 1+ years minimum experience working in a customer or patient facing role is helpful.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
• Evenings, weekends and holidays work.
• Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
• Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
• Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
• 90% of tasks involve glove use due to exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1).

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, greet and focus on our donors, while ensuring donor and team safety.
• Screen new and repeat donors and take/record donor vital signs and finger stick results.
• Use Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain records, and coordinate donor compensation.
• Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using approved procedures.
• Work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
