Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a part-time employee to handle billing submissions to DHQ, deposits, and donor recordkeeping, while supporting pantry needs and clients. This role requires reliable mail processing, donor communication, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities include assisting with food pantry operations, daily cash handling, and taking on clerical tasks as needed. Driving is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications

• Must pass all applicable background checks.
• Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 30 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

• Submit bills to Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) and prepare bank deposits.
• Assist with Food Pantry needs and clients.
• Open mail and distribute to staff.
• Forward receipts to DHQ for payment and processing.
• Fill out bank deposits with complete accuracy.
• Copy donor checks and submit to DHQ.
• Type thank you letters to donors and mail out.
• Keep records of booking, receipting and other donations.
• Assist with answering telephone calls.
• Assist with handling of client records with confidentiality.
• Enter daily kettle amounts into “Register to Ring”-Seasonal.
• Driving is an essential function of this position.
