Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Iowa is seeking a part-time Sales Associate in downtown Waterloo. You will assist customers, handle register transactions, receive donations, and help with stocking and merchandising in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires a positive attitude, reliable transportation, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Forklift licensing may be needed in some locations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess a positive attitude and infect others with similar enthusiasm.
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull fifty pounds with assistance.
• Reliable transportation. Ability to work a flexible schedule at multiple locations including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be willing to obtain a forklift license if able.
• Ability to use good judgment, discretion, and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide excellent service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Operate cash register and process transactions efficiently to minimize wait times.
• Assist with donation receiving, sorting, and grading to keep merchandise well stocked.
• Identify merchandise for online sales and handle according to process.
• Assist in loading/unloading donations and truck shipments as required.
• Maintain store and donation areas with attention to housekeeping and safety.
• Support team members and help with ongoing training and guidance.
