Job summary

Dohrn Transfer is seeking a Part Time Dockworker at our South Bend, IN Terminal to support freight handling and trailer operations in a fast-paced environment.

Daily duties include loading and unloading freight by hand or with forklifts, moving items with carts, and following DOT requirements. Starting pay is $22.67/hour, rising to $26.52/hour after one year, with Monday–Friday 5:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18
• High School completion or equivalent
• Must pass NON-DOT physical and functional screen
• Must consent to pre-employment drug screen with negative result
• Ability to read/write English and perform simple calculations
• Able to lift 50 lbs frequently and 100+ lbs infrequently
• At-will employment

Responsibilities

• Convey freight to/from trailers and storage by hand or with forklifts/hand trucks
• Load and unload freight according to DOT requirements
• Sort and secure items on trucks to prevent damage
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other handling tools
• Process daily paperwork and maintain compliance with company and regulatory requirements
