Barber National Institute is seeking a Part Time Direct Support Professional in Philadelphia, PA. Starting wages are $18 per hour, with higher starting rate for NADSP credentials at $19 per hour. A $1000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Shifts include 2nd (3:00pm–11:00pm) and 3rd (11:00pm–9:00am), weekends and holidays, about 28 hours per week. Responsibilities include assisting individuals with daily living activities, promoting independence, providing emotional support, and coordinating with a team

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Pre-hire Clearances: State Police Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance (if you have not lived in PA for the past 2 years).
• Ability to pass Medication Administration and CPR/First Aid Certification
• Access to a personal mobile device for work communication

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily living needs, including personal hygiene and meals.
• Assist individuals in community activities, social events, and relationships.
• Provide transportation to work, appointments, and social gatherings.
• Advocate for individuals' choices and ensure their voice in care decisions.
• Collaborate with caregivers and medical professionals to deliver holistic, person-centered care.
