Job summary

A Shining Light, Inc. is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living, healthcare, and social activities. You will provide patient, safe support, monitor medications, and collaborate with families and healthcare teams.

This role emphasizes empathy, reliability, and the ability to work rotating overnight, evening, and split shifts as part of a 6-week rotation. Training and career growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus.
• Ability to provide direct support and care in a compassionate manner.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Note: Prior experience in nursing homes, childcare, or assisted living facilities can be transferable skills for this position.

We utilize a 6-week rotation schedule for full time employees:

Schedule:

• Week 1: Monday and Tuesday off
• Week 2: Tuesday and Wednesday off
• Week 3: Wednesday and Thursday off
• Week 4: Thursday and Friday off
• Week 5: Friday, Saturday and Sunday off
• Week 6: Saturday, Sunday and Monday off All staff are required to work 4 hours on Thanksgiving and Christmas (to be paid for 8) and working any major holiday is compensated with a holiday bonus. We are currently hiring for OVERNIGHTS, EVENING, and SPLIT (more evenings, some day)
