Qualifications

Job Summary

We are looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team! Direct Support Professionals are responsible for providing individually-focused compassionate care and assistance to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and/or mental health challenges. The DSP will encourage growth toward independence in activities of daily living, socialization, community involvement, and support in expressing choices.

The ideal candidate operates with a big heart, not only providing personalized and attentive care, but also building genuine relationships with those they serve. You are detail-oriented, creative and committed to creating a healthy environment that meets client needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to succeed in this role. Prior Direct Support or Home Health Aide experience is a plus.

This position is part-time, but can be paired with other cases for full time hours. Hours will be Monday - Friday during the day (first shift).

Responsibilities

Assist individuals in the pursuit of recreational, social, and community activities based on their preferences and individual goals
Provide supervision and guidance for individuals during skill-building activities
Assist and encourage individuals in the establishment of social networks
Develop a rapport with individuals and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship
Ensure individuals’ rights are protected
