Job summary

Harry Meyering Center, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional to support individuals with developmental disabilities at home and in the community. The role emphasizes building relationships, enabling independence, and guiding personal growth with flexible part-time hours.

Training is provided and no prior experience is required. Locations include North Mankato, Mankato, and Eagle Lake, MN. Wage is $18.00 per hour with overtime pay and benefits available.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and have a HS diploma or GED.
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and independently.
• Good communication skills.
• Must hold a valid US driver’s license and pass a driving record check.
• Must pass the MN Department of Human Services Background Study.
• Prior experience not required, CNA/PCA/Caregiver/DSP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care for individuals in a meaningful way.
• Assist with personal cares.
• Engage in community activities (e.g., bowling, shopping, movies, exercise).
• Complete daily direct care tasks (bathing, toileting, feeding, dressing).
• Complete household chores (cooking, cleaning, laundry).
• Maintain HIPAA compliance in all communications.
• Follow health and safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

At Harry Meyering Center (HMC), we support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living more independent, fulfilling lives at home and in the community. As a Part-Time Direct Support Professional, you’ll build meaningful relationships, help individuals explore their interests, and support them in reaching personal goals.

With flexible part-time hours, paid training, and no previous experience required, this is a great opportunity to make a difference while gaining valuable experience in human services.

$18.00 per hour

Schedule

• 8–29 hours per week
• Every-other-weekend availability required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Additional fill-in shifts and holiday coverage may be available or required, depending on program needs
• Shifts may include:
  • 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
  • 3:00 PM–10:00 PM
  • 12:00 PM–4:00 PM
  • 4:00 PM–8:00 PM
  • Other shifts based on program needs

Location

Multiple locations in North Mankato, Mankato, and Eagle Lake.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct care for others in an individualized and meaningful way.

• Must hold a valid United States driver's licenseandpass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier unless otherwise noted.
• Must pass the MN Department of Human Services Background Study
• Prior experience or training is not required, but having experience as a CNA, PCA, Caregiver, DSP, or healthcare-related professional is preferred.
