Job summary

Harry Meyering Center, Inc. is seeking a Full-time Partial Sleep Overnight Direct Support Professional to care for individuals with disabilities during night hours. You will provide supervision, personal care, and assistance with routines, while maintaining dignity and privacy.

The role runs 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, 30–40 hours weekly, every other weekend, with paid training and opportunities for overtime. Wage is $15.00 per hour and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• HS diploma or GED required.
• Must pass MN DHS Background Study.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, respectful relationships while providing supervision and support.
• Assist with daily personal care needs with dignity and compassion.
• Encourage participation in activities at home and in the community to support wellness.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for individuals and staff.

• Participate in staff meetings and complete required training to grow skills.

Partial Sleep Overnights - Direct Support Professional

Harry Meyering Center is a non-profit focused on supporting developmentally disabled individuals in the community with a person-centered way of thinking.

Job Purpose

Make a difference overnight! As a Partial Sleep Overnight - DSP at Harry Meyering Center, you’ll help individuals with disabilities feel safe, comfortable, and supported throughout the night. You’ll assist with evening routines, monitor well‑being, and respond to needs or emergencies as they arise, with designated sleep time during your shift. Through compassionate, person-centered care, you’ll help individuals maintain their comfort, dignity, and independence.

Schedule: Full-time, 30 to 40 hours per week, including every other weekend, 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

Wage: $15.00 per hour

What You’ll do

• Build positive, respectful relationships by providing thoughtful supervision and support while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Assist individuals with personal care needs in a compassionate, dignity‑focused way.
• Encourage participation in enjoyable activities at home and in the community, supporting overall wellness and healthy living.
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe home environment for both individuals and staff.
• Accurately complete documentation and follow established systems, routines, and individualized support plans.
• Participate in staff meetings and complete all required training to grow your skills and stay informed.
• Protect privacy by following HIPAA guidelines in all written and verbal communication.
• Follow all health and safety policies to ensure a secure environment.
• Support the team with additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or general education degree.
• Must hold a valid United States driver's license and pass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier unless otherwise noted.
• Prior experience or training is not required, but it is preferred to have experience as a CNA, PCA, Caregiver, DSP, or healthcare-related professional.
• Must pass the MN Department of Human Services Background Study.
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to complete daily direct care such as bathing, toileting, feeding, and changing.
• Ability to do household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
