Job summary

The Cincinnati Art Museum invites applications for a part-time Collection Management Digital Conversion Intern for spring 2027. The 12-week paid internship offers hands-on experience in collection data management, archival review, and database standardization, with onsite work in Cincinnati, OH.

Selected students will review hardcopy object files, audit materials against the collection management system (TMS), and help develop data standards while learning exhibition, loan, and records

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student with a focus in humanities, museum studies, public administration, or a related field.
• Research and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail, ability to work independently, and prioritize tasks toward meeting project deadlines.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Teamwork oriented, ability to collaborate across departments.
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical behavior.
• TMS Collections or other collection management system experience preferred but not required.
• Technical writing, cataloging, copyright, and/or database management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, organize hardcopy object file documents for validity and completeness.
• Audit and consolidate file materials, including determination of archival needs.
• Update relevant data into TMS to ensure the digital records are accurate and complete.
• Assist with the development of TMS database standards and reference material.
• Create an FAQ reference document for CAM staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
